Rodent-Sized Catapult

General view of rodent-sized catapult

The General Description

The Rodent-Sized Catapult invented by Gadget represents a cross between the Plunger Elevators and a rocket.

The Rodent-Sized Catapult can be used for high-speed delivery of materials (or creatures), as Gadget demonstrated in "A Creep in the Deep" (#28).

The device is placed on a small cart, which has wheels made from screw-nuts and a handle for convinient moving. The shooting part of the device is placed on the inclined board, which is attached to the base with a nail. It is fired by using a rubber band and a spring. In a trim the spring and the rubber band are held by a pawl. When the pawl is released the rubber band snaps forward and pushes the "arrow". The spring increases the speed.

After the suck cup is reach its target, a second part of the mechanism is beginning to work. A rope is used for joining the suck cup with a rocket, which is fixed to a long pole. The pole inserted into a special socket at the end of the pole.

A jet thrust helps to quickly lift an object, whish is thrilled by a suck cup.
