The Pulley-system was developed by Gadget and
intended for materials handling and is a winch.
It was assembled from components of an erector set.
The device is built on a wheelbase, which allows easy movement
of the device. A rope, which is coiled around a spool,
is thrown over a pulley, which is fixed at the top of the
winch. When the spool is turning (by a handle attached on the side of it),
a load is moved up or down.
